People all across the country have faced great hardships due to Covid-19, one that hit home to many people was the chance that football would not be played nationwide.

Many players did not think it was possible to have a season at one point. Dale Jenkins is a football player for the Jefferson Township Highschool football team. Jenkins said, ‘’To be quite honest Ralph at one point I did not think there would be a chance we had a football season at all.’ Jenkins added, ’’ The Coronavirus affected us all throughout the country and the world, I didn't think there was a good chance at all that we would be able to play on an official level and what I mean by official is organized by the school.’’ The governor of New Jersey Phil Murphy did not allow high risk, heavy contact sports to participate until July 20th.

Jenkins said, ‘’ Every player prepares in a different way. I made sure to prepare for the pending season because my father Scott Jenkins really made me work hard, unfortunately it is up to every player to do what they are supposed to do... We are looking to bounce back after a medorice season last year; we feel pretty confident about the upcoming season because we have a lot of talent all over the field.’’ Last year, the Falcons had a 6-4 record not fulfilling demanding expectations. The Falcons are currently 1-1 in the 2020 season and are looking disciplined so far in the young season.

Coming into the season the QB battle was one of the many question marks regarding the Falcons this season. Jenkins said, ’’ We have two very talented quarterbacks, and we will continue to rotate because both Theo Fisher and Erik Garv give us a good chance to win and ultimately the only statistic that matters is wins and losses.’’

The Falcons are currently 2-1 and are playing very good fundamental football. Jenkins stated, ’’ I am very pleased with our play so far - we did a lot of things good but there's definitely room for improvement.’.  The Falcons will take on High Point High School on Friday, October 30th at Seven pm.
